CALDARUSANI Monastery - Gruiu commune, Ilfov county.
Monastery for monks. It was founded by Matei Basarab in
1638. Enhanced in the 18th century by Archbishop
Filaret. School of painting since 1778 (the painter Nicolae
Grigorescu was apprentice here between 1854-1856), printing
house since 1825, museum. Dedication days: “Saint Dumitru”,
26 October and “The Holy Evangelist Ioan”, 26 September.

PASAREA Monastery -
Branesti commune, Ilfov County.
Convent for nuns, it was first attested in 1813 by
Archimandrite Timotei of Cernica. The church of wall was
raised by Saint Calinic from Cernica in 1847 and painted in
oil. Here we find the tomb of sculptor Ghe. D. Anghel.
Dedication day: “The Holy Trinity”, the second day after
Whitsuntide.

Mihai’s the Brave Great Chancellor and his wife Elena.

SNAGOV Monastery -
Salistea Snagovului village, Ilfov county. Convent for
monks, situated on an island of Snagov Lake.
It was founded by Mircea the Old in the 14th
century, then is was restored by Vladislav II and Vlad Tepes. The present church was built by Neagoe Basarab
between 1517-1521.
Dedication day: “The Holy Virgin's Entering the Church”, 21
November.
